On the holding of the 12th Annual "Tokyo Japan Fashion Week"②
As days pass by, the massive impact of East Japan Earthquake, Japan's most powerful earthquake since records, is only beginning to be revealed. Needless to say, the fashion industry is suffering great physical and psychological damage.
In view of this serious situation, discussions are now underway at the JFW office with parties involved so as to take swift countermeasures.
In regards to the Tokyo Collection Week we are scheduled to host between the 21st and 25th of this month, we are confirming the advisability of the event with all parties scheduled to participate as it is one important business occasion for many fashion houses. We will be making an official announcement, as soon as tomorrow, of any decisions.
However, with a feeling of much regret, we announce that we are compelled to cancel the following functions :
■2011 Asian Designers Collection in Tokyo which was scheduled for this Friday, March 18 ;
■The Opening Ceremony involving ribbon cutting scheduled for Monday, March 21 ;
■The JFW After Party scheduled for Friday, March 25.
